Bruno Guimaraes wipes out Callum Wilson and embarrasses 30-year-old player in Newcastle training

Bruno Guimaraes is looking tigerish as Newcastle United prepare to face Nottingham Forest this weekend.

The Magpies take on Forest at the City Ground on Saturday evening, with Bruno Guimaraes expected to start yet again.

He will continue to be wary of his looming suspension, with the 26-year-old one more yellow card away from receiving a two-match ban. But Bruno has looked a lot more disciplined in our previous two games, boasting a clear desire to avoid a suspension.

The Brazil international will also be keen for Newcastle to get back to winning ways, after being held to a 4-4 draw by Luton Town. Bruno did all he could to drag Newcastle back into the game, even getting a stunning assist to set up Kieran Trippier.

But it is a long time since we saw Bruno score, with the midfielder not finding the net since the 8-0 win over Sheffield United. That is his only goal this season, but he is having more joy on the training pitch.

Bruno Guimaraes scores in Newcastle training video

The club have uploaded a video from a training session this week to their official YouTube channel, and it shows Bruno at his best.

Towards the end of the video, Bruno finds the net, but not before wiping out one of his teammates.

The clip starts with Bruno and Miguel Almiron hunting down Jacob Murphy, who they dispossess and leave on the ground. Then the ball falls to Callum Wilson, who is also left in a heap. Bruno snaps into a tackle with the Newcastle number nine, cleanly robbing the 31-year-old of possession.

From there, it is all about Bruno’s flair. He drives towards goal and sits down Loris Karius, just like Alexander Isak did the other week.

Bruno takes the ball around the 30-year-old goalkeeper, then goes past one more player before finding the net.

It was an excellent goal, and the kind of thing we would like to see Bruno do on Saturday night at the City Ground against Nottingham Forest.
