Brighton and Hove Albion injury latest ahead of the Premier League fixture with Newcastle United.

The end of the October international break is now in sight and attention will soon return to club football and the Premier League.

Newcastle United will be hoping to build on the good form they displayed before the pause in play, with Eddie Howe’s side finally starting to click in dominant wins over Union SG and Nottingham Forest.

It’s a tough first game back in action for Newcastle, though, as they travel all the way down to Brighton on Saturday.

The Seagulls are undefeated in their last four outings and already have victories over Chelsea and Manchester City this season.

Brighton have also become a bogey side for the Magpies in recent years, with Newcastle not managing to defeat them in five outings since May 2023, losing three of the fixtures in that time.

However, Newcastle could be against a weakened Brighton XI on Saturday as they’re dealing with several injury concerns.

Brighton injury news ahead of facing Newcastle United

Fabian Hurzeler is dealing with several injury problems, as well as some of his star players having to travel long distances to represent their countries during the international break.

The Brighton boss knows he will be without long-term absentees Adam Webster and Solly March, as well as youngster Jack Hinshelwood.

Exciting playmaker Brajan Gruda was forced to pull out of the Germany U21 camp last week with a knee issue and is unlikely to play, while star Japanese winger Kaoru Mitoma is a big doubt due to an ankle injury that ruled him out of the international break altogether.

Former Newcastle winger Yankuba Minteh – who has scored twice against the club – will be assessed ahead of the game as he is playing for The Gambia against Seychelles on Tuesday.

Likewise, Diego Gomez and Carlos Beleba have long trips back to Brighton this week and will be assessed for fatigue before the game.

Finally, Joel Veltman suffered a knock to the calf in his last outing, but it is hoped he will be fit to play.

Brighton aren’t alone in feeling the pinch of injuries, with Newcastle’s treatment room filling up, too.

Lewis Miley had to leave the England U21 squad last week but it was just a precaution and he isn’t expected to miss any club football. Just like Dan Burn, who is playing on through a broken hand.

Howe will be without the injured trio of Yoane Wissa, Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall, though.

Jacob Ramsey may finally be able to return, however, after an ankle injury halted his Newcastle career after just two appearances. It was hoped he’d be available against Forest, but Howe opted to give him some additional time to recover instead.

The manager will just be praying his side suffers no more injuries in the remaining international fixtures this week.
