Allan Saint-Maximin has become the first Newcastle player to publicly comment on the departure of Steve Bruce.
The news broke on Wednesday morning, with the club confirming that they will be looking for a new manager.
The writing has been on the wall for a long time for Bruce. His side have really struggled, particularly in the last 12 months.
Bruce leaves with Newcastle sitting 19th in the Premier League and without a win so far this season.

Despite the worrying performances, Saint-Maximin has had a lot of kind words to say about his former boss.
Allan Saint-Maximin posts wonderful tribute to Steve Bruce
He wrote on Twitter: “You are, without a doubt, one of the most gentle people that I have ever met in the world of football.
“You have been a man of your word, a caring man and a fair man who never hesitated to protect us. I will never forget how you treated me, for that I will be forever grateful.
“It has been an honour and a privilege to have you as a coach, thank you Steve.”
There’s a lot of joy among Toon fans right now, most of which are delighted that Bruce has been left.
But it is certainly nice to see Saint-Maximin post an emotional tribute to the former Newcastle manager.

The Frenchman clearly had a good relationship with Bruce, which brought out the best of him on the pitch.
Throughout Bruce’s tenure, Saint-Maximin has been the star in a black and white shirt. Particularly this season, the 24-year-old has been fantastic through the middle.
Hopefully Saint-Maximin can build just as strong a relationship with the next Newcastle manager. Paulo Fonseca is reportedly the favourite to take over.
Among all the negativity around Bruce and Newcastle, it’s heart-warming to read Saint-Maximin’s reaction to the news coming out of St James’ Park.
