Allan Saint-Maximin has longed for Newcastle United to share and match his burning desires and ambitions to challenge for major honours.
It looks like the Frenchman’s wish may be finally granted following the huge takeover on Thursday evening.
The Toon Army will have aspirations of jostling with both the Premier League’s and Europe’s powerhouses once again now that the draining Mike Ashley tenure has finally come to an end.

This will be music to the ears of fans, Toon legends and the majority of everyone connected to the club – apart from maybe Lee Charnley, Steve Bruce and his coaching team.
Saint-Maximin couldn’t help but show the fans that he has been following the dramatic change in the goalposts regarding the club’s takeover bid in the last 24 hours with a post on Twitter.
The 24-year-old will be excited by what the next chapter has in store for the club.
Following the takeover announcement, Saint-Maximin wrote on Twitter: “A new start with an ambitious Newcastle United. You deserve it more than anyone. Enjoy.”
Saint-Maximin dreams big

With a contract until 2026, Saint-Maximin was committed to Newcastle even under the stewardship of the infamous Ashley and Steve Bruce partnership.
But he always felt the club was capable of much more than deeming Premier League survival as a successful season.
Speaking in the summer with the club courting the permanent signature of Joe Willock, Saint-Maximin told Sky Sports he had big aspirations: “I had always said Newcastle should not be fighting against relegation every year. We have to fight for the top 10, it’s what the supporters deserve.

“Sometimes you have to think about your future, you can see Leicester winning the FA Cup, you play football to win trophies, not to fight to stay up.
“We have to buy more players like Joe Willock, he can be really great for the team and for myself, I am 24 years old, and have to think about the national team, about winning trophies, and hope the club can give me that.”
It was only last week that Saint-Maximin was again overlooked by Didier Deschamps in the French national side.

Earlier in the season, former Saint Etienne youth coach Gilles Rodriguez, who worked with Saint-Maximin, stated that he believed the £16.5m signing [Sky Sports] from Nice should be playing for a top club and challenging for trophies.
Things will take time with the Newcastle takeover, success isn’t going to happen overnight, but there will be a desire and intent from the new owners to get this club back where it belongs.
A framework will be set and Saint-Maximin has the opportunity to be at the forefront of taking this club into a new successful area.
Judging by his performances on the pitch this season, it’s a chance he will relish and grab with both arms.
