Newcastle United have one of the strongest teams in the Premier League, and there is no surprise that a number of their players have been on with their respective national teams during the international break.

Alexander Isak is part of the Sweden squad, Sandro Tonali is a regular for Italy, and Bruno Guimaraes is one of the first names on the Brazil teamsheet.

England have had as many as three Newcastle players in their squad during the November international break.

Lewis Hall, Anthony Gordon and Tino Livramento all played for the Three Lions, and it has now been reported that another Newcastle player could join them.

Newcastle United midfielder Joe Willock tipped to get England call-up

The Athletic journalist Chris Waugh has reported that England are tracking Joe Willock, adding that the £25 million former Arsenal midfielder seems destined to play for the Three Lions.

Waugh said during a Q&A in The Athletic: “In terms of who is next, Joe Willock seems destined to play for England. He is 25 and, but for injury, I am sure he would have been called up by now.

“I know England have a fair few deep-lying midfielders and loads of No 10s and wide forwards, but just as with Newcastle, I am not sure they have anyone with the characteristics Willock possesses.

“His ability to carry possession and his dynamism would improve any side, or at least give them an alternative, and he must be close to an England call-up. He has been tracked by the national set-up.”

Joe Willock is determined to get back to his best

Willock has not always had the best of times at Newcastle, but the midfielder is now enjoying a run in Eddie Howe’s starting lineup.

The 25-year-old has started Newcastle’s last three games. All of them have resulted in wins.

The former Arsenal midfielder has given one assist in three starts and six substitute appearances in the Premier League. He has score done goal in three League Cup matches.

Willock is pleased with how things are going for him at the moment and is keen on getting back to his best.

The midfielder told Newcastle’s official website: “I feel good. I feel like I’m getting back to my best. I feel like I’m playing well, trying to affect games.

“I’m going to keep pushing on. Hopefully I can continue pushing and start scoring goals, assisting goals on a regular basis.

The Premier League is so hard to get back into and get started at your best again. It’s good to get my minutes up and get my feet back under the table.”
