Kieran Trippier played his part in Newcastle United’s win over Arsenal on Tuesday night.

The Magpies are halfway there, with Newcastle United beating Arsenal in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg.

Eddie Howe’s side have a two-goal advantage ahead of the second leg at St James’ Park, which is scheduled for February 5th.

Alan Shearer was blown away by Newcastle’s performance, as they won at the Emirates for just the second time ever.

Bruno Guimaraes was also ecstatic, after Newcastle United managed to win without him for the first time since he joined the club. The 27-year-old was suspended for the first leg, but Bruno celebrated the win with his family at home.

Every player played their part on Tuesday night, and that includes Kieran Trippier.

That is despite the 34-year-old not actually getting on the pitch.

Kieran Trippier was among the substitutes against Arsenal, with Howe once again opting to play Tino Livramento at right-back.

But that did not stop Trippier influencing the game, as the Magpies recorded a famous victory.

In the 94th minute, the defender could be spotted along the touchline, barking out orders to his teammates as they protected their clean sheet.

Despite not getting as many minutes on the pitch, Trippier continues to be a key part of this Newcastle United squad. It is no surprise that Howe wants to keep Trippier at the club.

Trippier likely to feature in Newcastle United’s next game

Trippier’s orders helped Newcastle get over the line, as he showed his leadership prowess deep into added time.

But on Sunday he should get the chance to actually play when the Magpies entertain Bromley in the third round of the FA Cup.

Given this intense period of fixtures, it is highly likely that Howe heavily rotates his squad for the game against the League Two side this weekend.

Trippier should come into the team, while the likes of Will Osula will also hope to feature. The striker has sat on the bench for Newcastle’s last three games, as they picked up vital away wins at Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.
