Eddie Howe and PIF actually disagree over Kieran Trippier’s future at Newcastle United

Newcastle United may need to sell players this month.

While it would be incredibly unlikely to imagine Newcastle allowing any of their elite players to depart, shifting some of the squad options may be necessary.

Indeed, money is said to be tight this month amid PSR limitations. With that in mind, raising at least some funds from selling players seems a logical way of creating headroom for further investment.

Newcastle haven’t been great sellers during the PIF era, with only Chris Wood and Allan Saint-Maximin leaving for reasonably big fees before the enforced sales of Yankuba Minteh and Elliot Anderson back in June.

With that in mind, it may actually be a positive to see the wheels start to turn on potential outgoings.

Miguel Almiron has been tipped to depart, while Kieran Trippier is another.

The Newcastle United manager and PIF, however, may be of a slightly different opinion when it comes to the former England international.

According to The Sun, Howe is keen to keep the veteran defender this month.

The Newcastle United owners, however, are said to want to inject fresh blood into the squad and need to raise money to further comply with PSR.

Kieran Trippier wants to leave Newcastle United

It’s understandable that Howe would want to keep a player of Trippier’s quality in the squad. Still, it’s also easy to see why the owners would be keen to raise money on a veteran on reasonably big wages.

For his part, Trippier is understood to want to leave the club after being denied a summer move away from Newcastle.

Keeping him would not be a bad thing for Howe but perhaps leaving is best for both Trippier and the club as a whole.

Everything comes to an end.
