Newcastle United can get their Champions League campaign back on track with a win away to Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday, but that will be easier said than done.

After a controversial victory over Arsenal, Eddie Howe now takes his players to Germany as the high calibre fixtures continue.

Newcastle have beaten Manchester United and Arsenal over the past few days, and will now look to make it a remarkable hat-trick of wins when they face Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.

But the Bundesliga giants were very good when they came to St James’ Park last month, and this is the Newcastle team we expect Howe to pick against Dortmund

Tino Livramento gets first Champions League start against Dortmund

Newcastle are set to be without Dan Burn for the game against Dortmund, after the defender picked up a back injury on Saturday.

With Burn injured, it will likely lead to Tino Livramento getting his first ever start in the Champions League. The £32million man replaced Burn at the weekend, and will likely do it again on Tuesday, rather than Lewis Hall being promoted from the bench.

While Hall is a natural left-back, Livramento looks better equipped to play in the Champions League at this crucial stage. He has performed so well ever since his move to Newcastle.

if Tino does start, it will mean Kieran Trippier plays on the left of defence.

Lewis Miley on the bench for Newcastle

While Newcastle continue to pick up injuries, Howe does have some players returning.

One of those is Lewis Miley, who was fit enough to be on the bench against Arsenal after recovering from illness.

The 17-year-old will be on the bench again on Tuesday night, and will be eager to make his Champions League debut as a substitute.

Miley will be part of a depleted Toon bench, with Howe lacking gamechangers in reserve right now. However, he will have Joe Willock who is fit once again, and there is an outside chance that Alexander Isak could feature after he was spotted in training.
