Newcastle United are enjoying another special run in the Carabao Cup, and it is largely down to the efforts of Tino Livramento.

The 20-year-old has started both of Newcastle’s Carabao Cup games so far, and has played a key role in knocking both Manchester City and Manchester United out of the competition.

He kicked off with a player of the match display against Man City. He completely nullified Jack Grealish on what was his first ever Toon start.

Tino Livramento was exceptional on that night at St James’ Park, and he was at it again at Old Trafford.

He took Kieran Trippier’s place at right-back, and proved once again why the future is in safe hands. It was his glorious assist that helped give Newcastle the lead, as he set up Miguel Almiron to make it 1-0.

It was special from Livramento. The run from his own half was incredible, then he had the composure to find a pass as well.

That was the high point on another impressive Newcastle performance for Livramento, who is only going to get better in a black and white shirt.

Clinton Morrison stunned by Tino Livramento against Man United

That is the view of BBC Sport pundit Clinton Morrison, who was full of praise for Livramento on BBC Radio 5 Live after Newcastle’s 3-0 win over Man United.

“Livramento, wow,” he said.

“What a right-back he is going to be. He has got huge, huge potential.

“And the youngster Lewis Hall as well, they both really impressed me.”

Newcastle have signed two future stars

Newcastle signed Livramento because of his potential, with the view to him eventually taking Trippier’s place when the time comes.

But Livramento is already playing so well, which is why Trippier will be grateful that he is still at the top of his game!

The future is in safe hands with Livramento, who has the potential to go on and become a special player.

The same can be said for Lewis Hall, who also impressed Clinton Morrison on Wednesday night. He really excelled at Old Trafford, and looked much more comfortable than he did in the previous round against Man City.

Both of Newcastle’s young fullbacks enjoyed incredible nights, and have proved why the club invested so much money in them.
