Newcastle United simply must beat Ipswich Town on Saturday.
Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United are chasing Champions League qualification and currently sit fifth in the Premier League.
Still, the congested nature of the Premier League table leaves little more margin for error.
Newcastle play Ipswich at St James’ Park on Saturday, desperately needing to get back to winning ways after they were beaten 4-1 at Aston Villa last time out.
| Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |

Dropping points against a team bound for relegation would be a major blow to their chances of reaching Europe’s elite club competition once again.
What the Newcastle United manager could do without, then, is an injury to a key player.
Thankfully, Howe has recovered from illness at Newcastle, and it seems Fabian Schar could yet provide a further boost.

Fabian Schar hints at injury boost for Newcastle United
Schar suffered a hamstring injury against Villa and was duly taken off towards the closing stages of the defeat.
The defender is a crucial part of Howe’s team, both because of his quality and the fact other players in his position are injured.
Sven Botman is now being assessed following knee surgery, while Jamaal Lascelles might not play at all this season.
Luckily, Schar appeared to drop a major hint before the game.
He posted a graphic of himself in action with the Ipswich match branding to his Instagram stories on Saturday morning.
Newcastle United could be set for major transfer boost vs Ipswich
A win could also help the club in their summer recruitment plans.
Newcastle are interested in Ipswich striker Liam Delap and have reportedly considered a move for the forward ahead of the opening of the transfer window.
Delap has a release clause worth around £30million in his contract, should the Tractor Boys be relegated from the Premier League.
Unless they win at St James’, that will happen and the criteria for Delap’s release clause will have been triggered.
Three points could make both qualifying for the Champions League and signing Delap much easier. Potentially having Schar available feels a major boost as a result.
