Newcastle United fans watched Bruno Guimaraes produce another marvellous display against Manchester United on Monday night.
The Toon skipper was outstanding as Newcastle beat Manchester United 2-0 at Old Trafford, with Eddie Howe’s side moving up to fifth in the Premier League.
Bruno Guimaraes started on the right of Newcastle’s midfield three alongside Sandro Tonali and Joelinton, and they were dominant in the centre of the pitch. They were too powerful and too clever for Man United, who slumped to a fourth consecutive defeat in all competitions.
After the game, Ruben Amorim said Newcastle are better than Man United, and that was true in every department on Monday night.
Howe’s side were exceptional, as Bruno Guimaraes and co sent the travelling Toon Army home very happy from their final away day of 2024.

Bruno Guimaraes’ message to Newcastle fans
After the game, Bruno took to his official Instagram account to deliver a message to Newcastle United fans.
He wrote: “Great victory!!! This one’s for you, NUFC fans. Enjoy it, and let’s keep pushing for more. This team and these fans deserve great things. Howay the lads. Have a great New Year Geordies.”
‘Captain’s performance’ from Bruno against Man United
Bruno’s post prompted a reply from Jacob Murphy, who was quick to praise the Brazilian midfielder.
Murphy commented: “Captain’s performance tonight.”

It was exactly that, with Bruno leading by example. He is growing into the role of captain, after a difficult start to his tenure with the armband.
At the start of the season, Bruno seemed to be weighed down by the responsibility of being captain, but now he is relishing it. Sandro Tonali’s change of position has freed up Bruno, who is becoming more and more influential in this Newcastle side.
He is playing very well right now, while Bruno was also celebrating throw-ins like they were goals at Old Trafford. He is such a passionate player, and that is why the Toon Army love him.
Bruno will hope to produce a similar performance away to Tottenham on Saturday, before sitting out the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg against Arsenal due to suspension. On current form, he will be a massive miss that night.
