Newcastle United ran rampant at Old Trafford to make it five wins in a row across all competitions.
The Magpies will finish 2024 in the top five of the Premier League table after an emphatic 2-0 win against Manchester United.
Alexander Isak scored in his sixth consecutive league game to give Newcastle United a lead after just four minutes.
Eddie Howe’s side completely dominated the first half of the clash and doubled their lead through Joelinton’s header in the first half. A steady second-half performance secured all three points for Newcastle.
Here are the player ratings from Newcastle’s latest victory.

Martin Dubravka – 6
The only Premier League goalkeeper in 2024 to keep four consecutive clean sheets, and this was the easiest of the lot.
Dubravka has stepped up superbly to fill the void left by Nick Pope after his injury. It is no surprise Howe wants to keep him at St James’ Park.
Kieran Trippier – 6
Defensively solid before being forced off with what appears to be a hamstring injury just before the hour mark. Replaced by Tino Livramento.
Fabian Schar – 5
Suffered lapses of concentration and was let off in the first half after a shocking misplaced pass that fell to Kobbie Mainoo.
Schar then picked up his fifth yellow card of the campaign meaning he will be absent against Tottenham.
Dan Burn – 7
Massive impact in both boxes. Newcastle’s towering centre-back gave Manchester United defenders problems all evening from set pieces. Was unlucky not to add to his goal tally.
Lewis Hall – 8
Superb cross for Isak’s opener and made a vital block in the second half against De Ligt. Capped off what has been an absolutely superb 2024 for the young left-back.
Sandro Tonali – 7
Continued his strong form in the No.6 position but had very little defensive work to do. Almost scored with a deflected shot from range. Dominant.
Bruno Guimaraes – 7
Ran rings around United’s midfield duo of Christian Eriksen and Casemiro, who simply couldn’t match Guimaraes’ energy and intensity. Kept the tempo high for Newcastle without having too much of an impact in the final third.
Joelinton – 9
A commanding performance. Doubled Newcastle’s lead with a towering header and bullied Manchester United’s midfield.
Jacob Murphy – 6
No goals or assists for the first time in five matches for Jacob Murphy, but he still had a strong performance out on the right. Delivered some dangerous crosses and burst in behind the defence on a few occasions.
Anthony Gordon – 8
Energetic, direct and sharp when linking up with Isak up front. Noussair Mazraoui will be having nightmares about Gordon after the Newcastle winger had the beating of him all night.
Alexander Isak – 9
Has now scored in six consecutive Premier League matches. Isak had the chance to match Alan Shearer’s record but fell just short. However, on another day he could easily have had a hat-trick. Manchester United simply couldn’t handle him.

Substitutes
Tino Livramento – 6
Introduced to the match when the hosts were building in confidence, but Livramento helped Newcastle regain control. Handled United’s attacking threat superbly and joined the attack when possible.
Harvey Barnes – 5
Brought on to add some energy in the dying minutes.
Joe Willock – 5
Covered plenty of ground to help Newcastle defend their lead late on.
