William Osula opened his account at Newcastle United with a stunning strike.

It was certainly one to remember for the 21-year-old – he endured a shaky start before scoring the Magpies third to help them reach the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Newcastle’s win against Bromley was their eight straight in all competitions – Eddie Howe’s side are on a fantastic run of form at the moment but that result was a sign that they weren’t complacent and got the job done when they needed to.

Howe admitted Osula doesn’t score many like that in Toon training, but was pleased he finally opened his account.

It was only Osula’s second start of the season with the first coming in the Carabao Cup as Newcastle breezed past Chelsea at St James’ Park.

With a lack of game time, Osula’s start to life on Tyneside has been slow – the goal on Sunday showed exactly what he can do when given an opportunity.

After the result, the 21-year-old took to social media to post about the win and his performance. The reception was outstanding.

Newcastle players respond to Osula’s social media post

Osula was seen kissing the Newcastle badge after scoring his first goal before he was mobbed by his teammates.

On Instagram, Osula said: “First goal for NUFC what a feeling. Thank you Jehovah all glory to you.”

The comments section was swamped with replies from Osula’s fellow teammates including Alexander Isak who said “Skräckiee” which translates to “Scary”.

Nottingham Forest star Anthony Elanga commented “That’s my boyyyyyyyy”, Elanga nearly joined Newcastle in the summer but a deadline day move for the Swedish winger never materialised.

Bruno Guimaraes paid homage to Osula’s new hairstyle by saying “Blonde hair means goal brother”.

Joe Willock commented “so happy” while other Newcastle stars like Anthony Gordon, Lewis Miley and Tino Livramento all commented heart emojis for the Dane.

Osula should have another chance to impress in the FA Cup – the Magpies were drawn against League One side Birmingham City which falls a few days after Newcastle’s important Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Arsenal. Howe could make changes for some tired legs.

Newcastle’s goalscoring prowess continues

Yes, it was against a lower-league side but Newcastle fired three past Bromley to keep up their goalscoring streak.

Newcastle have now scored in 11 straight games in all competitions, a run which started in late November.

The Magpies are in a great position to make a lot of memories this season, they currently sit fifth in the Premier League and could be just 90 minutes away from another Carabao Cup final.

If the FA Cup draw also goes their way, there could be a lot for Newcastle fans to cheer about at the end of the campaign.
