The Black Country club rushed to trigger the clause that allowed them to sign him permanently, for around £23m. A fee Newcastle can only dream of getting a striker for.

Despite only just moving to Wolves, Newcastle put Strand Larsen on their short list in July after missing out on Hugo Ekitike.

It’s emerged that Strand Larsen would be open to a Newcastle move, though, understandably, Wolves do not want to sell.

However, Wolves fans think the club would sell Strand Larsen if a £35m-£40m bid was made, as the club would make a massive, immediate profit.
