Alan Shearer has compared Yoane Wissa to Alexander Isak as one attempts to join Newcastle United and the other tries to leave.
Staggeringly, Newcastle and Brentford are in similar situations. They each have a striker who wants to leave their club, but are not going to be allowed to leave until a replacement is found.
Newcastle were hoping to sign Wissa last week, but a deal continues to stall.
That has created an unsavoury situation, with the 28-year-old deleting Brentford from his social media.
It has been reported that Wissa was told he could leave Brentford, but that has not proven to be the case. He missed their opening game of the season, while he spent part of pre-season training away from his teammates.

Alan Shearer does not like what Yoane Wissa is doing amid Newcastle United interest
The comparisons between Wissa and Isak are easy to make, and Alan Shearer has addressed both of their situations on the Rest Is Football podcast.
Shearer is not happy with how Isak is conducting himself at Newcastle United, which means he is ultimately not happy with what Wissa is doing at Brentford either.
“I don’t like players that have got a contract not training or refusing to train or refusing to play,” he said.
“You have a contract behind you. Now I always said there I understand there are two sides to every story, Isak might have a story which he hasn’t spoken about yet. Wissa might have a story which he hasn’t spoken about yet. I think I read this morning he’s deleted all his photographs of being in a Brentford shirt or anything to do with Brentford.
“I don’t know his side of the story but I don’t like it. I’m exactly the same as the Isak situation, it is not right.”
Yoane Wissa could copy Alexander Isak’s statement
Shearer’s comments came before Isak released his statement. He has now spoken out, with Isak saying promises were broken.
Newcastle have responded to Isak, admitting they do not envision a situation where he is sold this summer.
In reality, whether Isak is sold will not be massively influenced by what happens with Wissa. Newcastle want him to replace Callum Wilson, so a move to St James’ Park will not open the door for Isak to depart.
But it might not be long before Wissa emulates Isak with a statement of his own.
That is according to TalkSPORT’s Alex Crook, who stated on YouTube on Tuesday that a statement from Wissa could be on its way.
“I have been told we could well see a formal statement from Yoane Wissa in the coming days explaining his situation at Brentford,” he said.
Speaking out will give Wissa the chance to give his side of the story, but it feels unlikely that Brentford’s stance will be changed. They need to bring in a replacement first, despite the lengths that Wissa is going to join Newcastle United.
