Newcastle United are hoping to welcome Callum Wilson back from injury very soon.
The striker has been absent since early December, with his last Newcastle United appearance coming in the 4-2 defeat to Brentford.
However, Eddie Howe has stated that Callum Wilson is almost due to return, with the 32-year-old expected back at the beginning of February. Elsewhere, it has been claimed that Wilson is eyeing the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg to make his comeback.
That game is next Wednesday night at St James’ Park, just days after the Magpies face Fulham in the Premier League.

Training ground update on Callum Wilson
With Newcastle set to face Arsenal for a place in the Carabao Cup final in less than a week, there is not a lot of time for Callum Wilson to prove his fitness.
If he is going to be available for that game, you would like to think he will be back in full training very soon.
The club have released a training gallery to their official website from Wednesday’s session, and there is no sign of Wilson in training.
That could make it a race against time for the number nine to make himself available for the Magpies’ game against Arsenal next week.

No Miguel Almiron ahead of Newcastle United departure
Elsewhere, there is no Miguel Almiron in training as he gets set to complete his transfer to Atlanta United.
It has been reported that Almiron has said his goodbyes at Newcastle United, with the 30-year-old on his way back to the MLS after six years on Tyneside.
He made his farewell appearance for the club on Saturday, coming off the bench in Newcastle’s win over Southampton.
After the game, Miguel Almiron was serenaded by the Newcastle fans, as Eddie Howe forced him to soak it all in and savour his moment with the Toon Army.
