Former Newcastle United transfer target Jorgen Strand Larsen could finally be on the move in January.
Before signing Yoane Wissa to replace Callum Wilson, Newcastle United made two huge bids to sign Strand Larsen.
Wolves, however, stood firm and refused to sell the Norway international – who scored 14 goals last season – and snubbed Newcastle‘s advances.
Who is the one player you were FURIOUS with Newcastle United for selling? Go back as far as you want!
The 25-year-old then signed a new contract at Molineux but has endured a nightmare campaign thus far.
Wolves are on course to become one of the worst teams in Premier League history and Strand Larsen has only scored one goal in 15 league games.
Now, there’s seemingly a chance he does eventually leave after all.
West Ham want to sign Jorgen Strand Larsen
According to The Athletic, West Ham have expressed an interest in signing the former Celta Vigo forward.
They suggest that the Hammers would like to bring Strand Larsen to east London, with Germany international Niclas Fullkrug set to join AC Milan on loan.
Talks are believed to be at an early stage and Strand Larsen does have other options, too.
West Ham could feasibly join Wolves in potentially getting relegated this season. They sit 18th in the Premier League table heading into Christmas.
Selling him would represent a major U-turn for Wolves, who went to huge effort to keep him at the club during the summer transfer window.
Newcastle United should recall Matt Targett – agree or disagree?!
We're short of defensive options, but it feels like a step in the wrong direction.
Newcastle United should be delighted they didn’t sign Jorgen Strand Larsen
The fact that Newcastle were prepared to pay such big money to sign Strand Larsen now looks somewhat strange.
While the Wissa move is yet to work out, he’s at least on the scoresheet already, while Nick Woltemade has outperformed Strand Larsen since his move to St James’ Park.

There have been major questions asked of the club’s recruitment policy and the fact Strand Larsen has struggled since his failed transfer to Newcastle is hardly a ringing endorsement.
Clearly, blaming one player alone for the struggles Wolves have endured this season would be unwise.
Still, this now looks like something of a bullet dodged on Tyneside.
