Newcastle United have been handed a fresh update regarding their top transfer targets this summer.
The Magpies are looking to make a number of additions to their squad this summer to be more competitive in their upcoming European campaign.
Newcastle United are just one win away from Champions League qualification, which would solidify their best season in living memory.
The Carabao Cup win ensured that Newcastle would definitely return to European competition next season, but the feeling around the players was that the Champions League is where the club belongs.
Eddie Howe has done a remarkable job without a squad rich in depth. The 47-year-old lost Elliot Anderson and Yankuba Minteh last summer, while Lloyd Kelly and Miguel Almiron departed. None of those players were replaced, but Newcastle are still within touching distance of Champions League football.
Newcastle have around £150m to spend this summer, but a new transfer report has stated what the Magpies must do to attract their top targets.

Newcastle United can sign top targets if they play Champions League
The summer transfer window is expected to be one of the most important in Newcastle’s history. Sporting director Paul Mitchell is tasked with bringing in quality players to take the club to the next level.
One of Newcastle’s priority signings is Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo, who has been sensational under Thomas Frank this season.
Scoring 18 goals and bagging seven assists, Mbeumo has one of the best attacking returns in the Premier League throughout the campaign.
However, according to inews, Newcastle have been told that several of their top targets, including Mbeumo, have Champions League football as a priority for any move.
Mbeumo joins the likes of Marc Guehi and Dean Huijsen as players linked with moves to the Mapgies, although Huijsen looks set to join Real Madrid this summer to be managed by new head coach Xavi Alonso.
When can Newcastle United start signing their top targets?
Mitchell will undoubtedly be chomping at the bit to bring new players in this summer to compensate for the departures over the last year.
Thankfully, he does not have much longer to wait before transfers can officially be made.
It was recently announced that the transfer window will first open on June 1 2025, to cater for clubs taking part in the Club World Cup. The window will close again on June 10 2025, and will reopen six days later.
The transfer window will run until September 1, 2025, but it was recently confirmed that the transfer window will close at an earlier time to help admin staff who usually work late times to help deals go through.
Some clubs are concerned that this will cause problems, as teams from abroad could strengthen their squad while the window is closed.
Newcastle are planning to do their transfer business early this summer in order to steal a march from their rivals.
