Newcastle United are interested in Tyler Dibling, as Eddie Howe aims to strengthen his squad.
Tyler Dibling is a player who Newcastle United know all about. They tried to sign him when he was just 16-years-old, and are targeting him once again three years later.
Newcastle want to sign Dibling, at a time when the Magpies desperately need to bring in a new right winger. That is a priority for Paul Mitchell, who is preparing to overhaul Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United squad this summer.
Given Dibling’s potential, seeing him in attack alongside Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon is a tantalising prospect.
However, the 19-year-old might not actually be the solution to Newcastle’s winger problem.

Tyler Dibling’s position could change
That is because there is a belief that he might not be a winger for the rest of his career, despite shining there for Southampton this season.
BBC Sport have spoken to multiple coaches who have worked with Dibling during his young career, with many of them believing the teenager will develop into an attacking midfielder in the coming years.
Whether or not that influences Newcastle’s thinking remains to be seen.
While the Magpies could benefit from having a ‘number 10’, it is not something that Howe uses at this moment in time. What he does need is an elite winger, so perhaps Dibling is not the long-term answer if he is destined to play a different role in the future.
Newcastle United are not the favourites to sign Tyler Dibling
Regardless, Newcastle are not in pole position to land the attacker right now.
Geordie Boot Boys have been told that Tottenham are the favourites to sign Dibling, despite interest from Eddie Howe’s side.
As for Southampton, they are positioning themselves to get the highest fee possible. It has been reported that Southampton value Dibling at £100million, which is a staggering amount of money.
There is no way that the Saints will get that amount, but a move away for Dibling is certainly on the horizon this summer.
