West Ham are considering returning with an offer for one of Newcastle United’s key players after showing interest back in January.
Newcastle are looking at which players they could sell to raise funds this summer without losing star players like Bruno Guimaraes or Alexander Isak.
One option who came up in January was Callum Wilson, and now a report from Sports Lens claims that West Ham could make a move for the Newcastle striker who is still currently injured.
Newcastle looking to cash in on Wilson this summer
In the almost four years that Wilson has spent at the club he’s been a reliable goalscorer with a record of just under one goal every other game across all competitions for Newcastle.
However, his biggest issue which has haunted him throughout his whole career is his injury record, and it’s proving to be too difficult to deal with.
Now, with just over a year left on his current contract Newcastle’s window of opportunity to make some money back on the striker who they signed for £20m is running out, and this summer looks to be their last chance.
West Ham on the other hand are in desperate need of another out and out striker with Jarrod Bowen often having to fill in at that central role alongside Michail Antonio.
David Moyes’ side were showing interest in Wilson back in January, though Newcastle were unwilling to let a key man go in the middle of the season, but the summer would give them ample opportunity to find a replacement.

West Ham would be doing Newcastle a favour
The last time Wilson featured for Newcastle was the 3-2 win against Nottingham Forest last month when he picked up a pectoral injury which would keep him out for the next three months.
It really just epitomises his time at Newcastle, a quality striker when fully fit but those days are becoming few and far between, especially now at the age of 32 as he starts to lose a yard of pace.
West Ham’s interest in the Newcastle man comes at a great time for the club who are looking to move on from the former Bournemouth man and would welcome a decent fee to reinvest in a new and younger replacement.
Wilson has served the club very well and Eddie Howe is of course a big fan having worked with him at two clubs, but Newcastle need to be more ruthless in their decision making to get to the top.
