Southampton are reportedly interested in signing Isaac Hayden from Newcastle United.
According to The Sun, the south coast side are keen on the Englishman, and see him as someone who can bring more power to their midfield.

The claim comes after Hayden was touted as a possible sweetener for Newcastle to land Will Hughes from Watford.
It’s explained Hayden is available for around £10 million.
The enforcer made 24 appearances for the Magpies last term, and 157 in total for the club since his arrival in 2016.
He is very much a fans’ favourite at St. James’ Park.

That’s largely down to his brilliant attitude and desire to play for the badge.
With Newcastle said to be working on a tight budget this summer, there is a chance the club may look to cash in.
Fans did not respond well to the idea of Hayden being used in a deal to land Hughes.
Hayden could push for Saints move
Southampton being interested in Hayden is potentially bad news.

The Saints ended up having a fairly average season last term, but they are definitely a club with potential under Ralph Hasenhuttl.
With a few good signings, they could challenge for Europa League qualification.
£22,000-a-week star Hayden (Spotrac) has suggested previously he wants to return down south for family reasons.
Perhaps he would be keen on this move if the offer was right.
