Newcastle United are reportedly interested in Watford midfielder Will Hughes.
There is now a report from The Sun claiming Steve Bruce is actually in talks with Watford over a potential £12 million deal.
Interestingly, it’s explained that Watford have an interest in Isaac Hayden.
It is understood Newcastle are working on a tight budget, and apparently there is potential for Bruce to offer Hayden as a sweetener.
It seems Watford are ready for life after Hughes.
Supposedly they are also after Peter Etebo from Stoke City.
Hayden has been with Newcastle since 2016, transferring from Arsenal.
Over the years, the 26-year-old has become a real fans’ favourite at St. James’ Park for his attitude and desire.
He has previously been linked with a move away from the club for family reasons.
Hughes not worth losing Hayden for, unless…
Hughes is a good player, but arguably he would not be worth losing Hayden for.
Hayden may not be an outstanding technician or playmaker.
But he is a combative and effective player and crucially, is someone who plays for the badge and will always give his all.
Unless Hayden is still keen to move back down south, Newcastle shouldn’t be entertaining a swap proposal.
