There has not been a lot of movement regarding the players who Newcastle United released this summer.
The Magpies issued emotional goodbyes to Matt Ritchie and Paul Dummett, with their contracts expiring at the end of the season.
But neither have secured a new club as of yet, although both Ritchie and Dummett have been linked with Sheffield United.
Out of the senior players who left, Kelland Watts is the only one who has found a new employer. He will be representing Cambridge United after signing a two-year deal with the League One side.
However, Jeff Hendrick is still a free agent, and the same goes for Loris Karius – although that could soon change for the latter.

Loris Karius offered out following Newcastle United exit
Loris Karius was also released by Newcastle United at the end of last season. His exit came as no surprise, with his partner Diletta Leotta eager for him to play for a club in Italy.
The 31-year-old got married earlier this summer, and could now potentially make his wife’s dream come true.
That is because, according to Calciomercato, Karius has been offered as a possible signing for AC Milan.
The report adds that the Serie A giants were not planning to sign a goalkeeper this summer, but are now having to change their approach due to an injury to Marco Sportiello.
Calciomercato add that Simone Scuffet is a target for AC Milan, while they have also been offered Rui Patricio.
They have some decent options, and Karius will hope that he is the one who gets the call.
The German spent almost two years at Newcastle United, making just two appearances. Incredibly, one of those was the 2023 Carabao Cup final. The ‘relaxed‘ Karius made his Toon debut at Wembley, but was unable to help the Magpies end their trophy drought.
Regardless, he was an important player for Eddie Howe, who has since brought John Ruddy and Odysseas Vlachodimos in as replacements.
Newcastle trying to sign a player from AC Milan
While AC Milan have the chance to bring in a former Newcastle United player, the Magpies are hoping to sign one of their players.
Malick Thiaw is a target for Newcastle United, as Toon officials aim to purchase a right-sided centre-back.
Eddie Howe has praised Thiaw following the rumours, while there is hope that Newcastle could soon make a breakthrough in the transfer market. That could potentially mean a deal is close for the 22-year-old, or it might be someone completely different.
