Newcastle United goalkeeper Loris Karius already appears to be lining up his next move as his Toon contract winds down.
The 30-year-old’s current deal at St James’ Park is due to expire this summer, and it does not look like he will be receiving an extension.
That is not a major surprise, as Loris Karius has barely featured for the Magpies since his arrival last season. He has only made two appearances, one of which was the 2023 Carabao Cup final. What a way to make your debut…
His second appearance came one year later, with illness to Martin Dubravka resulting in Karius starting against Arsenal last month. Eddie Howe described it as a ‘tough night’ for the German, as Newcastle lost 4-1 at the Emirates Stadium.
Karius certainly was not to blame for the result, but it was not a vintage performance from the former Liverpool man either.
And that could end up being his last ever Newcastle United appearance, as his agent lines up his next move.

Loris Karius could leave Newcastle and head to Italy
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Loris Karius could join a Serie A club this summer.
They state that a move to Italy is something that would appeal to the goalkeeper, with former Italy international Claudio Marchisio set to take care of his future.
His agency will be representing Karius, and could secure him a move to Italy as his Newcastle contract winds down.
That would be a sensible decision for Karius, as his wife Diletta Leotta is Italian and works as a broadcaster there. They have also just started a family too, with their first child being born in August last year.
For family reasons, a move to Italy is best for Karius. And it might be better for him from a football perspective too, as he is never going to play regularly for Newcastle United.
A Toon departure looks almost inevitable this summer, and it is encouraging to read that his next move appears to be being lined up.
As for the Magpies, they could be in the market for a new goalkeeper this summer, and that will be even more pressing if Karius does ultimately leave.
