Real Madrid could ruin Newcastle United’s attempts to sign Marc Guehi.
Guehi was a Newcastle United transfer target last summer but ultimately remained at Crystal Palace.
Such is their desire to land him, however, Newcastle are still interested in signing Guehi this summer.
The defender will be out of contract at Palace in the summer of 2026 and is likely to be in demand.
Chelsea are also interested in Guehi, although it seems Real Madrid could enter the race to sign the 24-year-old.

Real Madrid ready to ruin Newcastle United’s plan to sign Marc Guehi
According to The Sun, the Spanish giants are interested in the England international.
Madrid have signed big-name players on free transfers in recent years, including the likes of Antonio Rudiger and Kylian Mbappe. They are also widely expected to land Trent Alexander-Arnold on a similar deal upon the expiration of his contract at Liverpool this summer.
The report claims that both Madrid and Barcelona are interested in moving for the defender in the summer of 2026 should he stay at Palace and run his contract down.
The fact that Guehi has an Ivorian passport is also thought to appeal. Spanish clubs are allowed only three non-EU players in their matchday squads, but players of African nationality effectively count as Spanish players due to the Cotonou Agreement.

Crystal Palace confirm Marc Guehi latest amid Newcastle United interest
Eagles chairman Steve Parish made some interesting comments in regard to the defender earlier this week.
Parish confirmed Palace are a “trading club” and will sell players this summer, which could directly impact Newcastle’s chances of landing Guehi.
Still, he also has every right to run his contract down and secure a lucrative move to Spain next summer. Real Madrid have just signed Newcastle transfer target Dean Huijsen and could potentially partner him with Guehi in 2026.
That’d be a bitter pill to swallow for Newcastle but Guehi potentially looking to join Madrid would certainly be understandable.
