Adrien Rabiot becomes the third player Newcastle ‘want’ from Juventus in January

Newcastle United are reportedly one of three Premier League clubs who want to sign Adrien Rabiot in January.

That is according to Gazzetta dello Sport (via Il Bianconero), who also believe that Liverpool and Chelsea are interested in the Juventus midfielder.

Before we go any further, this is most likely a load of rubbish. While some may believe this is the case with most rumours, it surely must be in this instance.

The report adds that Rabiot’s desire is to play in England, and that Juve could use the money to make their dream signing Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

This isn’t the first time that Rabiot has been linked with a move to Newcastle, and it probably won’t be the last. Ever since the takeover, the Magpies have constantly featured in Italian gossip columns that think the Frenchman is heading to St James’ Park.

The 27-year-old is a controversial player, and someone who has been relentlessly linked with a move away from Juve. They clearly want rid, and Newcastle’s name is being used to try and get him a move.

Given his reputation and stature in world football, no Newcastle fans should believe a word. He is the exact opposite of what Eddie Howe wants when looking for new signings.

Interestingly, Rabiot is now the third Juventus player linked with a move to Newcastle in January. And each rumour is as ridiculous as the last.

Newcastle ‘want’ two more Juventus players after Rabiot

While talk of Rabiot coming to Newcastle is laughable, there have been two even more comical rumours involving the Magpies and Max Allegri’s team.

The first involves Dusan Vlahovic…and Newcastle’s record signing Alexander Isak. It was reported by Calciomercatoweb earlier in November that the Toon owners could propose a swap deal to bring Vlahovic to Tyneside.

So Newcastle are going to give up on their £63million man after three games? Next rumour please.

That brings us to another Juventus striker – Moise Kean. He was a flop for Everton, and will re-sign for Juventus permanently next summer when his loan deal ends. But that hasn’t stopped speculation over a move to another black and white team.

Our third bogus claim from Juve Dipendenza stated that Newcastle could swap Allan Saint-Maximin to sign Kean. I mean, where do you begin?

So apparently we’re going to swap our star winger for a failing striker, despite having a lack of wide midfielders at the club already.

Since the takeover, sensible decisions have been made in the transfer market. Newcastle have been lauded for their transfer approach, and it has certainly shocked outsiders who expected the Magpies to make expensive mistakes.

That hasn’t happened, yet the rumours still haven’t stopped – particularly in Italy. Reports claim Newcastle want Rabiot, Vlahovic and Kean from Juventus in January. Don’t bank on any of them joining.
