It’s been a busy few days of transfer news for Newcastle United fans and now worrying updates have emerged in regard to Joao Pedro and Tino Livramento.
Newcastle want to sign Pedro, although Chelsea are also interested in the Brazilian forward.
Meanwhile, Manchester City want to sign Livramento, although Eddie Howe’s side have no desire to sell the defender.
It looks like it’s going to be a busy summer for the club. Newcastle will make a new bid for Anthony Elanga, having seen their opening offer of around £45million rejected by Nottingham Forest.
Furthermore, Newcastle have seen a bid rejected for James Trafford, although they could return with a fresh offer.
Over the course of the weekend, updates about Pedro and Livramento specifically emerged.

Newcastle United falling behind Chelsea in Joao Pedro race
According to Mark Douglas on social media platform X, Chelsea are now pushing hard to win the race to sign Pedro this summer.
There is now a confidence at Stamford Bridge that they’re moving ahead of Newcastle.
That is a bitter blow. Pedro is one of Newcastle’s leading targets this summer and watching him move to Chelsea would be painful.
The Blues already signed Liam Delap ahead of Newcastle. Now, two of the club’s main attacking targets could be lining up together in west London.
Perhaps there will be another twist in the Pedro saga but the signs are hardly promising.
Tino Livramento’s head is turning amid Manchester City interest
Livramento is happy at Newcastle despite the links with City.
Still, a recent story from GIVEMESPORT makes a counterclaim on that front.
They suggest that City are still confident about signing the 22-year-old. It’s even suggested that the Manchester club believe they are “turning” Livramento’s head.
It does, however, also say that Newcastle are confident the former Southampton defender is happy on Tyneside.

Livramento has starred for the England U21s after a fine season for the Magpies and Pep Guardiola is said to be keen to bring him to the Etihad Stadium.
Newcastle have rejected approaches for Livramento, who still has three years to go on his contract at St James’ Park.
Newcastle United still confident of James Trafford deal
As mentioned above, Newcastle have seen an offer rejected by Burnley for Trafford.
Still, according to Ben Jacobs on social media platform X, there is still a confidence on Tyneside that Newcastle can reach a deal with the Clarets.
The goalkeeper has agreed personal terms with Howe’s side, who also tried to sign him last summer too.
Nick Pope dropped a major hint on Trafford’s potential move to Newcastle on Saturday, by promising to see the goalkeeper “soon” in a comment posted on Instagram.
Unlike with Pedro, a potential move for Trafford is looking promising for Newcastle.
