Despite Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa performing well, the reports suggesting Newcastle United will go in for Jorgen Strand Larsen just will not go away.
Newcastle fans have been delighted with the way their new strikers have settled in on Tyneside, with 11 goals between both Woltemade and Wissa already.
If you could sign ONE Premier League player this month – who would it be?
However, fans are eager to see Woltemade and Wissa play together in attack. That’s unlikely to happen right now, given Newcastle don’t have any other forwards in reserve.
That’s where Jorgen Strand Larsen could come in. We know Steve Nickson was watching Wolves play West Ham at the weekend, and fresh reports suggest the Norwegian striker could be on his way to St. James’ Park.

Newcastle one of many Premier League clubs keen on Strand-Larsen
According to transfer expert Graeme Bailey at TEAMTalk, Wolves are coming to terms with the fact they will likely be relegated this season and are now prepared to sell players in January to maximise value.
Strand Larsen is one of those players. Despite rejecting huge bids in the summer, from Newcastle in particular, Wolves are ready to slash Strand Larsen’s asking price.
Bailey claims the Midlands outfit would accept less than £50m for the striker, and even suggested the fee could go as low as £40m.
Alongside Newcastle, there have been enquiries made by Nottingham Forest, while Spurs, Crystal Palace, Everton, and Fulham are all interested.
Bailey says Newcastle “greatly appreciate” Strand Larsen and have been alerted to the change in Wolves’ stance.

Newcastle should not rush in for a new striker
It’s a curious situation for Newcastle. They don’t really need another striker, or at least, not as much as they need defensive reinforcements this month.
Still, Newcastle fans think Strand Larsen would do well on Tyneside, and having a third striker to support Woltemade and Wissa would never be a bad thing.
A lot will probably depend on William Osula’s fate this month, with the young striker tipped to leave Newcastle for Frankfurt. If he does go, maybe signing Strand Larsen would be wise, but the Magpies must surely bolster their backline first as a priority.
