Newcastle United are still open to player sales this summer, despite the likes of Sean Longstaff and Callum Wilson moving elsewhere already.
With less than two weeks before it closes, activity in the transfer window could still be big for the Magpies, with Eddie Howe still unhappy with his squad.
Newcastle United have made four senior signings this summer, adding quality improvements to positions very much in need of it, but the Magpies are still hoping to sign at least one striker before the window closes.
Callum Wilson was released by Newcastle in July and has since joined West Ham United. Elsewhere, longstanding squad member Sean Longstaff was sold to Leeds United for £15million in a deal representing pure profit, helping their PSR position.
There has been a big clearout on Tyneside, with Martin Dubravka also leaving after seven years to join Burnley.
With the summer transfer window far from over, a new report has suggested another longstanding player could leave the club this summer.

Newcastle United open to selling Jamaal Lascelles this summer
Having joined in 2014, Jamaal Lascelles is officially Newcastle’s longest-serving player now that Longstaff is gone. However, recent transfer business has seen the 31-year-old slip down the pecking order.
Newcastle confirmed the signing of Malick Thiaw last week on a four-year deal. His arrival means that Lascelles is now the fifth-choice centre-back at the club, so he has very little chance of breaking back into the starting XI.
According to The Athletic, Lascelles’ exit has not been ruled out. The defender has just a year left on his deal, having signed an extension while injured last season, but the writing could be on the wall for him this summer.
The report also states that Newcastle would not stand in the way of full-backs Matt Targett and Harrison Ashby leaving this summer.
Referred to as a ‘titan’ by Jamie Reuben, Lascelles was not even in the squad for Newcastle’s draw with Aston Villa last weekend, with Thiaw seemingly taking his place.

When was the last time Jamaal Lascelles played a Premier League game for Newcastle United?
Lascelles missed almost all of last season after suffering an ACL injury, which took much longer than anticipated to heal. However, Howe named Lascelles on the bench for Newcastle’s final three games of the season, though he did not get a chance to play.
I mean that Lascelles has not played in a Premier League game since the 2023/24 season.
His most recent league appearance for the Magpies came in a thrilling 4-3 win against West Ham United on March 30, 2024, where he was forced off in the first half due to his injury.
Lascelles suffered his ACL injury around the same time as Sven Botman, who spent around 10 months on the sidelines due to his problem.
If this summer is the end for Lascelles at Newcastle, he can be very proud of the work he has done. Lascelles lifted the Carabao Cup trophy with Kieran Trippier and Bruno Guimaraes on the arches of Wembley in March, surely a career highlight for the defender.
