Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak is set to miss his first scheduled public appearance since confirming his intention to leave the club this summer.
The Magpies’ star has not been seen on a football pitch since May, and has been training away from the first team since July, shortly after it was confirmed he was missing the pre-season tour of Asia.
Alexander Isak has made it clear that he wants to leave Newcastle United this summer, with Liverpool very keen on his signature. However, Newcastle have stood firm throughout the summer and said that Isak is not for sale.
It has been widely reported that Newcastle will not sell Isak for anything less than £150million, a fee far exceeding the British transfer record.
Recent reports suggested that Isak asked to leave Newcastle ‘months ago‘, but head coach Eddie Howe was quick to debunk those rumours.
With fans waiting to hear some dialogue from Isak, a new report has stated that Isak is set to miss a planned public appearance due to the ongoing transfer saga.

Alexander Isak set to miss PFA awards night as Newcastle United exit lingers
Isak missed Newcastle’s 0-0 draw with Aston Villa, but questions from the press were almost all about the 25-year-old. Even if Newcastle wanted to sell, they would need to sign two strikers before considering his exit.
As it stands, Newcastle will also be without Isak for their first home game of the season against Liverpool.
Now, it looks as though Isak is set to miss another event, this time away from the football club. The annual Players’ Football Association (PFA) gala takes place on Tuesday night, an event Isak has been invited to. However, a BBC Sport report states that Isak has yet to accept an invitation for the event in Manchester.
Additionally, the report states that Isak is not planning to attend the event, so his decision makes the whole transfer saga look even worse.
Isak has been nominated for the PFA’s Player of the Year award, alongside the likes of Mohamed Salah and Alexis Mac Allister, but he is not set to line up alongside his fellow nominees at the Manchester Opera House.

Alexander Isak’s award snub brings more doubt over his Newcastle United future
As it stands, it appears clear that Isak has no obvious intention of playing for Newcastle again, and Howe is having a very tough time getting him back around.
Even many Newcastle fans believe that Isak should be sold and that there is no way back for the man people once thought would become a legend on Tyneside.
Something needs to be done to bring the situation to a natural end, whether it is Newcastle agreeing on a transfer fee with Liverpool or Isak himself providing a statement on his desire to leave.
Isak has not even handed in a transfer request. While doing that comes with its cons for the Swede, it would be a clear sign that he wants to leave, rather than any other reports.
If the transfer window ends and he is still a Newcastle player, it is undoubtedly an awkward situation that he must get himself out of. Howe is keen to bring him back into the squad, so the decision is down to Isak to come to his senses.
