There could be plenty of outgoings at Newcastle United this summer.

While Newcastle United are in a strong position with regards to PSR, it will only grow stronger with further player sales.

Newcastle are not going to sell any of their top stars. With Champions League football confirmed, the Magpies are not under any pressure to sell the likes of Alexander Isak, Sandro Tonali or Tino Livramento.

The latter has attracted some attention as of late, with Manchester City interested in Livramento.

Newcastle United make Matt Targett decision

Eddie Howe is more likely to move on fringe players. Sean Longstaff is expected to leave Newcastle United, while he could potentially be followed out the door by Matt Targett.

That is according to the Athletic, who report that Newcastle are ready to listen to offers for the 29-year-old left-back.

Targett has had another season disrupted by injury, which has been the story of his Newcastle United career ever since joining the club permanently for £15million.

With Lewis Hall ahead of him in the pecking order and Livramento also capable of operating on the left, it makes sense for the Magpies to move Targett on.

He made just five first-team appearances during the 2024/25 season, and has not started a Premier League game since September 2023.

Garang Kuol could leave Newcastle United

Another player whose Toon future is up in the air is Garang Kuol.

The Athletic state that Newcastle could sell Kuol this summer, as he enters the final year of his Toon contract.

Kuol arrived on Tyneside as an Aussie wonderkid, but his stock has dropped and he is nowhere near Eddie Howe’s first-team.

While Kuol has excelled for the Newcastle Under-21s this season, there remains a chance that his career at St James’ Park could come to a permanent end.

That would be a shame, as there was real excitement when Dan Ashworth brought Kuol to Newcastle United from Central Coast Mariners in January 2023.

Ahead of the summer transfer window, Kuol has been told to leave Newcastle by Australia manager Tony Popovic.
