Newcastle United will be playing European football of some description next season, that is for sure.
While all eyes at Newcastle United are on their push for Champions League qualification, Eddie Howe’s side will be on some kind of continental campaign next time out.
Indeed, Newcastle have qualified for the Conference League by winning the Carabao Cup in March. Clearly, no one at the club will actually want to play in that competition but the point is that there will be more games added to the schedule next season.
Fortunately, Newcastle insiders think they can spend this summer. That will be a huge boost for the Newcastle United manager, who has not seen his squad significantly strengthened since the summer of 2023.
Still, expecting the club to make a series of big-name signings feels unwise in a PSR-dominated world. Not every gap can be filled in one single transfer window.
With that in mind, Howe could do with turning to the Newcastle youth ranks in an attempt to further reinforce his senior side. One of the more well-known youngsters in Garang Kuol has just been recognised for his form.

Garang Kuol nominated for Premier League 2 award
As confirmed by the Newcastle United official website, Kuol has been nominated for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month Award.
The Australia international scored twice while registering the same number of assists in just two Premier League 2 outings for the Newcastle United Under-21 side during the month of April.
Kuol admits training with the Newcastle first-team has been difficult but is certainly proving a prolific forward option at youth level.
That obviously doesn’t mean he’ll translate it on the senior stage if and when his chance comes but Kuol isn’t doing his chances any harm.
Garang Kuol prediction made by Newcastle United insiders
The 20-year-old is yet to have been trusted by Howe in a competitive sense just yet but is starting to impress those within the Newcastle coaching set-up.
Indeed, Kuol is highly rated by the Newcastle U21 manager, with Diarmuid O’Carroll suggesting the Australia international could score goals in the senior side.
| Games | Goals | Assists |
| 12 | 5 | 4 |
Newcastle fans are keen to see Kuol handed a chance and while that feels very unlikely any time soon, perhaps the increased schedule next time out could see him start to make his way into the team.
He hasn’t had the easiest time of things at Newcastle but Kuol is seemingly starting to come good.
