Newcastle United may pursue the signing of a right winger this summer.
While Newcastle United have one of the Premier League’s form players in Jacob Murphy right now, Eddie Howe’s squad lacks another option on the right-wing.
Miguel Almiron left St James’ Park in January, leaving the Newcastle United manager light in that particular department.
Bryan Mbeumo has been linked with Newcastle, though the Brentford forward is not alone in that.
Anthony Elanga was a Newcastle target last summer and could be again this time around.
Newcastle failed in a bid for Elanga in August 2024 and the Sweden international has gone on to flourish as Nottingham Forest challenge the Toon Army for Champions League qualification.
They could, however, now be open to a sale.

Nottingham Forest set new Anthony Elanga price tag
Newcastle remain interested in Elanga, although rival interest could emerge.
According to Caught Offside, former club Manchester United are also interested in the 22-year-old, who had scored six goals while registering eight assists in 32 Premier League appearances this season prior to Monday’s clash with Tottenham.
It’s also claimed that while Forest haven’t exactly put the winger up for sale just yet, a bid of around £42million could tempt them into a discussion.
Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal are also credited with an interest.
Anthony Elanga has already sent Alexander Isak message after Newcastle bid
Elanga was open to joining Newcastle last summer, albeit he has also talked fondly of life at Forest.
Quite why the City Ground outfit would accept a reasonably low £42million for him is up for debate but Newcastle would be getting a player already familiar with star man Alexander Isak should they sign Elanga.
The two play together for Sweden and Elanga has admitted he has spoken with Isak about a move to Newcastle.
Looking to sign a right-winger this summer anyway, Newcastle could surely do worse than Elanga…
