Newcastle United latest transfer news and rumours amid Marc Guehi development and Benjamin Sesko update

This remains a frustrating summer transfer window for Newcastle United amid updates on Marc Guehi and Benjamin Sesko.

Guehi is still a Newcastle United transfer target despite the club having failed to sign him from Crystal Palace last summer.

Sesko has been linked with a move to Newcastle too as the club look at strengthening their frontline during what remains of the window.

Still, Newcastle’s attempts to sign players ahead of the new season have frequently been met with frustration.

Indeed, Eddie Howe issued a worrying Newcastle transfer update when speaking after Saturday’s pre-season defeat to Celtic. The Newcastle United manager suggested he was hopeful rather than confident that new players will arrive this summer.

Having said all that, unwelcome updates on Guehi and Sesko are hardly surprising.

Tottenham consider Marc Guehi bid but Liverpool move most likely outcome

According to The Daily Telegraph, Tottenham are considering making another offer for Guehi.

The England international is down to the final year of his contract with Palace and was the subject of an offer from Spurs back in January.

However, a move to Liverpool is still seen as the most likely outcome if Guehi does leave Selhurst Park this summer.

Quite where that would leave Newcastle remains to be seen. They want to sign a new defender, but don’t look especially close to doing so.

Manchester United split over Benjamin Sesko move

Manchester United are interested in Sesko, though it seems not everyone is in agreement at Old Trafford.

According to GIVEMESPORT, Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim has doubts the RB Leipzig forward could adapt to his style of play.

Still, recruitment director Christopher Vivell is believed to be pushing the club to move for the 22-year-old this summer.

Sesko scored 13 goals in 33 Bundesliga games last season and Leipzig are confident there will be a huge market for his services as the window progresses amid claims that Newcastle are keen.
