Newcastle United’s pursuit of a right winger has been well-documented.
The club, after all, made a late move on transfer deadline day back in the summer to try and bring Nottingham Forest star Anthony Elanga to St James’ Park.
Such was the frustrating nature of the summer window, however, Newcastle failed in those attempts.
Given that no option there has been signed during the PIF era, links with new players continue.
It is still believed to be an area in which Newcastle are looking to strengthen, with Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo previously touted as the dream target.
Real Sociedad’s Takefusa Kubo was hailed as a future “superstar” by former Mallorca chief executive Maheta Molango and has been scouted by Newcastle staff before. Now, there has been an update on his future.
Newcastle United offered Takefusa Kubo transfer

According to the Daily Mail, Newcastle have been offered the chance to sign the Japanese international.
The club were reportedly approached to be made aware the 23-year-old has a release clause worth £50million in his contract with the Spanish side.
Still, while Newcastle are said to value the forward – who generally operates on the right – it’s understood the finances involved mean the deal simply cannot happen this month.
Miguel Almiron is set to leave soon but it is not thought any replacement will be signed during this window.

Takefusa Kubo has played with Newcastle United star Alexander Isak
Alexander Isak is in record-breaking form for Newcastle right now and it’s amazing to think what the Sweden international and Anthony Gordon could do alongside the right-winger the club crave.
Though not to pay any disrespect to the current starting option there in Jacob Murphy, it is perhaps not too controversial to suggest Newcastle could feasibly sign a significant upgrade on him at some point.
Kubo played with Isak during the striker’s spell at Sociedad, albeit only twice during the 22/23 campaign and just before the latter joined Newcastle at club-record expense.
Certainly, Newcastle’s last signing from Sociedad did not go too badly…
