Newcastle United are interested in Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, but negotiations between the two clubs for him have been anything but smooth.
Eddie Howe is eager to add younger players to his backline, given that Dan Burn is 32 and Fabian Schar is 34.
Newcastle United will return to the Champions League next season and are eager to bring new faces to the club to give them the best chance of being competitive in the competition.
One player who is heavily linked with a move to Tyneside is Marc Guehi. The defender is out of contract next summer, and Crystal Palace may be forced to sell this summer to get a good fee for him.
Newcastle are seriously interested in Guehi, as they have been for the past 12 months, and are already preparing to make a fresh approach for him this summer.
The belief is that Guehi will cost Newcastle around £50m this summer, a fee they should be able to afford.
With Guehi to Newcastle one possible move this summer, fans believe they have found a way to make a deal happen after a recent transfer report regarding the future of a Toon ace who has not lived up to expectations this season.

Newcastle United fans think Joe Willock could be used as a sweetener for Marc Guehi
Joe Willock has every right to be disappointed with his 2024/25 Premier League campaign, having lost his place in the starting XI and bagged just two assists all season.
It was recently reported that Willock could leave Newcastle this summer, with Crystal Palace believed to be one team interested in signing the 25-year-old this summer.
Willock is happy at Newcastle, but Howe could still look to cash in on him if the price is right. The reports led to Newcastle fans believing they could use Willock as a sweetener for a deal with Palace, which would see Guehi move to the Magpies.
“Wouldn’t be a bad deal that for palace as I think they have a sell on % to Chelsea for Guehi so a lower fee with Willock in makes more sense for them.” said one Newcastle fan, while another added: “Sell sell sell!!”
This Newcastle fan pointed out Jobe Bellingham’s move from Sunderland to Borussia Dortmund, saying: “In today’s market I reckon Willock is still probably a £25m player. Still only 25 and 150 PL appearances as well as European experience. Sunderland just got £30m for a Championship midfielder who hardly looks a world-beater after all.”
“I’d imagine separate deals, we pay them 50m for Guehi they pay us 25m for Willock.” said this sensible Newcastle fan.
Another fan added: “Willock + 10m seems fair to me.”
Finally, this Newcastle fan said: “Nice little PSR reach around, for actual playable assets.”

Marc Guehi has a lot of love for Newcastle United fans amid transfer links
Newcastle are big fans of Guehi and are seemingly not taking no for an answer from Crystal Palace. The Magpies are eager to improve their options in defence and believe Guehi is the right player to push them forward.
Sporting director Paul Mitchell was frustrated by Guehi talks in 2024, but could do the Magpies a huge favour and bring the defender to the club as one final parting gift before he leaves at the end of June.
Having experienced it on several occasions, Guehi is a big admirer of the Newcastle supporters, admitting that St James’ Park is the best ground to play in.
During a 2024 interview, Guehi was asked which stadium he enjoys playing in most.
“Schalke’s stadium was very good,” he said.
“I’d say, in the Prem, probably Newcastle. St James’ Park is just really, really loud in there, the fans make it really difficult when you go there so yeah, probably St James’ Park.”
