Newcastle United fans already have a chant for Anthony Elanga ahead of his move to Tyneside.

The Magpies are closing in on their first major signing of the summer, with Newcastle United agreeing a deal to sign Anthony Elanga from Nottingham Forest.

Geordie Boot Boys understand that Elanga will cost Newcastle United an initial £55million, plus £5million in add-ons.

Forest are getting their full asking price, as Eddie Howe finally gets set to welcome a new right winger to St James’ Park. Given his speed and ability to create chances, it will not be long before the Toon Army are singing Elanga’s name.

Newcastle United fans want Oasis-inspired chant for Anthony Elanga

In fact, some Newcastle United supporters already have a chant in mind for the Sweden international.

Following news of the Magpies’ bid being accepted, Toon fans on X believe that Elanga’s name should be chanted to the tune of Oasis hit Don’t Look Back In Anger.

“Just heard ‘don’t look back Elanga’ and now I’m fully convinced we’re winning the league,” wrote one fan.

Another Newcastle United fan asked: “Anyone actually able to make some good lyrics to go in a don’t look back Elanga chant?”

This Toon supporter simply posted: “Don’t Look Back Elanga, I heard you say.”

Another fan came up with a whole chant, writing: “And so Isak can’t wait, they know it’s too late as he’s running on by, his goal slides away, so don’t look back it’s Elanga you heard us say!!”

“I like the Oasis one DOOOONT LOOK BACK ELANGA!” wrote a fifth member of the Toon Army.

Finally, this Newcastle United supporter proudly proclaimed: “DON’T LOOK BACK ELANGA I HEARD HOWAY.”

Newcastle United could replicate Alexander Isak’s chant for Anthony Elanga

Another option for Newcastle United fans is to put a spin on Alexander Isak’s chant.

His name is sung to the tune of Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! by Swedish pop group ABBA, with supporters calling for a striker from Sweden who plays in attack.

That could easily be altered to a winger from Sweden, with Elanga an international teammate of Isak’s. They have shown great chemistry together for Sweden, and it will be great to see them link up in the black and white of Newcastle United.

With Isak, Elanga and Anthony Gordon, Newcastle United suddenly have one of the fastest front threes around. The speed that Eddie Howe’s forward line will possess is frightening and should make the Magpies an even more dangerous prospect in attack.

Newcastle also have depth, with Harvey Barnes and Jacob Murphy options out wide. They enjoyed very strong 2024/25 seasons and will certainly have ambitions of being starters ahead of Gordon and Elanga.

That competition is exactly what Howe has been looking for ahead of his side’s return to the Champions League.
