Newcastle United’s squad will look very different at the end of the summer transfer window, but there are three players who are going absolutely nowhere.
While all the talk is about who Newcastle might buy ahead of next season, there are plenty of players who are fighting for their future at St James’ Park.
The likes of Allan Saint-Maximin and Jamaal Lascelles have been linked with exits. They are two players who the Magpies will reportedly listen to offers for.
However, there are three players in Eddie Howe’s team that are most certainly not for sale.
Bruno Guimaraes, Sven Botman and Alexander Isak not leaving Newcastle this summer
According to the Telegraph, Newcastle want to make at least four ‘elite’ signings this summer. However, that will mean the club has to sell some players to balance the books and stay on the right side of financial fair play.
But the Telegraph believe that three Toon players are going nowhere: Bruno Guimaraes, Sven Botman and Alexander Isak.
That means that next season Newcastle will definitely have Bruno in the middle, Botman at the back and Isak in attack – but will it end with the Magpies winning the Premier League?
It is no surprise that Newcastle have no plans to sell those three players. They are the standout additions since the change of ownership – the players who are going to be a part of this project for a long time.
However, there has been interest from elsewhere. Real Madrid are fans of £40million signing Bruno, while there has been speculation that PSG could try to sign Botman. That is a testament to his first season on Tyneside, with teammate Fabian Schar describing him as the ‘complete package‘.
As for Isak, he will have been turning heads with his recent form that has drawn comparisons to the great Thierry Henry.
Newcastle have invested a huge amount of money in the three aforementioned players, so it is no great shock to know that they plan on keeping them. In total, they cost £138million – and at the moment it is proving to be money well spent.
