Sven Botman hasn’t even been at Newcastle United for a full year, but he is already attracting interest from elsewhere with PSG keen.
According to i News, Paris Saint-Germain are interested in Botman yet again after failing to sign him previously.
The Dutchman was a PSG target back when he was at Lille, but instead signed for Newcastle last summer.
He arrived from the Ligue 1 side for £35million, and has so far proven to be worth every penny. Botman is part of the Premier League’s meanest defence, and has settled into life on Tyneside with ease.
Newcastle pulled off an absolute masterstroke when they signed Botman last summer, with the 23-year-old already looking like an elite-level centre-back.

PSG advisor recently praised Sven Botman
That is why PSG are keen, and their football advisor Luis Campos recently heaped praise on him, having previously worked with the youngster at Lille.
Campos recently said in an interview that he calls Botman the ‘sheriff’ because he is the ‘boss in defence’, describing him as someone who will go on to ‘win titles every year’.
The PSG advisor might hope that is in the French capital, but Newcastle have no plans to let Botman leave Tyneside.
Newcastle will not sell Botman
i News add that while PSG are keen on Botman, Newcastle have no interest in selling. The report states that the Magpies will even consider extending the defender’s contract if he continues to impress over the next few months.
There is absolutely no way Newcastle should be selling Botman, so it’s good to see the club have no intention of moving him on.
Nor should they, as he has played brilliantly ever since arriving in the North East. He has scope to get even better too, as he is only 23. We could still be talking about Botman as a Newcastle United player in 10 years time if we are lucky.
Interest from an elite club like PSG might scare some Toon fans, but it is something we must get used to with better players moving to St James’ Park. We have already seen it with Bruno Guimaraes, who is attracting admiring glances from Real Madrid.
But the likes of Bruno and Botman have joined Newcastle because of the project, and will hopefully see it out for as long as they are needed.
