New Everton manager Sean Dyche reportedly wants to sign Ryan Fraser from Newcastle United.

That is according to 90min, who claim that the Toon winger is on the 51-year-old’s list of targets ahead of his appointment at Goodison Park.

It was reported on Friday morning that Dyche was going to be the man to replace Frank Lampard at Goodison Park. That appointment looked likely to boost Newcastle’s bid to sign Anthony Gordon, and that has proven to be the case.

The Magpies have agreed a £45million deal to sign the 21-year-old, who will now travel to the North East for a medical.

It is an exciting addition to Eddie Howe’s squad, while the move also gives Everton some cash to reinvest into their side – and it is very clear that they need reinforcements.

Dyche is set to inherit the Premier League’s joint-bottom club, and will need to galvanise a depleted group if he is to keep the Toffees in the top flight.

The former Burnley boss will no doubt be keen to make some new signings before the transfer window closes, and is in need of a winger ahead of Gordon’s move to Tyneside.

A move for Fraser could make sense, and he is a player who is available this month. The Scotland international wants to leave St James’ Park, while Newcastle are happy for him to move on.

Howe recently said that he would ‘love‘ to see Fraser play for the Magpies again, but that feels incredibly unlikely. The arrival of Gordon will push him further down the pecking order, with his last start for the club coming back in September.

It was previously claimed by i News that Fraser was offered to Everton, and now Dyche could take Newcastle up on that offer. However, 90min add that the former Bournemouth man is not going to be included in the Gordon deal.

But Everton need a replacement, and Dyche is seemingly keen on Fraser. It could be a good move for him. He needs first-team football, and has the Premier League experience that Everton are likely looking for.

A deal would suit Newcastle too, as it gets him off the wage bill and opens the door for further additions.
