Everton have reportedly been offered the chance to sign Newcastle United winger Ryan Fraser.

That is according to i News, who state that Frank Lampard is looking to bring in players who are ready to hit the ground running.

Fraser certainly ticks that box. He looks set to leave Newcastle this month, with i News reporting that he is available for a transfer. That aligns with what has been reported elsewhere about the 28-year-old, with the Telegraph claiming that he wants to leave.

When rumours first emerged regarding a Toon exit, it was claimed that both Southampton and Brentford were keen to sign the wide midfielder.

However, we are now into the second half of the January transfer window and a move is still not forthcoming. That will concern Fraser, and it has recently been claimed that he is now more likely to go out on loan rather than permanently.

He will surely be keen to remain in the Premier League, and he might get that chance with Everton.

Everton offered Ryan Fraser option

i News believe Fraser has been offered to the Toffees, and they state that interest in the Scotland international may grow.

It is a desperate state of affairs at Goodison Park right now. The club is in turmoil, as Lampard’s side lost 2-1 to Southampton on Saturday to leave them 19th in the Premier League table.

Relegation is looming large, while there is chaos off the pitch too. The fans are clashing with the board, leading to unsavoury scenes in and around the ground. It is a messy situation that only looks likely to get worse.

Everton look like a club that is destined for the Championship right now – unless they bring in serious reinforcements this month. And one of those could be Fraser.

If they do sign the former Bournemouth man, they will be getting a player who is desperate to prove a point. Fraser has barely featured for Newcastle this season, and is now being left out completely amid talk of a departure.

While he has only started three Premier Leagues this season, Fraser can still be an asset. His ability to beat a man and get a cross in could be a boost to the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who has only scored once in the league this season.

Lampard and Everton need a boost from somewhere, and have been given the chance to sign Fraser from Newcastle. Now they must decide whether or not to take up the offer of a proven Premier League talent during their time of need.
