Brentford are looking to steal a march in the race to sign Newcastle target Jens Cajuste.
According to the Athletic, the Bees have a firm interest and are looking to step up their bid.

Newcastle have of course already lost one transfer battle to Thomas Frank’s newly-promoted side this summer.
Kristoffer Ajer was wanted by both clubs but opted to move to west London, which was a blow for Newcastle.
Brentford only signed Frank Onyeka from Midtjylland a couple of weeks ago, and now want to raid the same club again for Cajuste.
Both Newcastle’s and Brentford’s initial interest was reported earlier this month.

That report claimed £12 million would be enough to sign the Sweden international this summer.
Will Newcastle be willing to get to that kind of number? It remains to be seen.
Brentford have a smart recruitment model and have seemingly got their eyes on players under 24 with big potential as they look to make a splash next season.
They are seemingly pressing ahead with trying to sign Cajuste, while Newcastle remain the only club in the Premier League yet to sign a senior player this summer.
