Benfica striker Darwin Nunez is a reported transfer target for Newcastle and he has been drawn against Liverpool in the Champions League.
We wrote yesterday that Nunez now has a huge opportunity to impress on English soil if he can lead his side to a shock win.
And in the Daily Mail, Sky Sports pundit Micah Richards has hailed Nunez for being the man to fire Benfica into the last eight with the winner against Ajax on Tuesday night.

“Liverpool fans will have been delighted at how the Champions League draw panned out but let me provide a word of warning.
“Darwin Nunez has caught my eye all year and he came up trumps for Benfica once again, to send them into the last eight.
“Nunez scored his 26th goal of the season and is only 22. He is tall, strong, he runs in behind and knows how to finish.
“He’s scored against Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Ajax so far — don’t discount him doing the same against Liverpool.”

There are not many established elite strikers around, so it is only natural that those with that potential are such hot property.
It is no surprise Newcastle are looking at Nunez and it would be a huge statement of intent if they were to sign him in the summer.
He could make himself a target for most clubs in Europe if he inspires an unlikely run deep into the Champions League, and what a way to grab the eyes of any suitors it would be if he scored the winner at Anfield to eliminate Liverpool.
