Newcastle United are believed to be monitoring the situation of a top European youngster despite big interest from some other Premier League rivals.
Newcastle’s transfer budget this month has left a lot to be desired, but supporters are hoping that will take a dramatic change in the summer as they look to overhaul the squad.
Although Tottenham look to be the frontrunners, journalist Pieter-Jan Calcoen has claimed that Newcastle are one of a few clubs who remain interested in Club Brugge’s young star Antonio Nusa.
Newcastle still chasing teenage star this month
You’d have to go all the way back to September when Newcastle first registered their interest in Nusa who was believed to have snubbed a move to the Premier League in the summer.
This year, however, after another year of impressing and developing his talents in Belgium, it could be time for the attacker to make the leap to a top European league with a number of clubs still interested.
Calcoen names Newcastle, Chelsea and Tottenham as the three English teams who are after his signature, though Tottenham currently look the strongest given they are within touching distance of a top four position in the league.
Newcastle are very much in the market for a new striker with Callum Wilson expected to leave either this month or the summer and Nusa may be the perfect candidate to develop under Alexander Isak.

Toon target could one day be as good as Haaland
One of Nusa’s biggest strengths is his versatility, the fact he can play up front, down the left or down the right makes him a very attractive options for so many clubs.
Newcastle in particular are desperate for depth all over the pitch and could use Nusa as both a striker and a right-winger where they have proven to be quite weak in terms of the quality of players in that position.
Back in September, The Athletic claimed that the Norwegian teenager has the ability to become just as good as Erling Haaland or Neymar, so certainly no pressure on the young man.
If Nusa became even a fraction as good as either of those two world class talents then he would be worth snapping up for Newcastle who are very keen to add exciting young talent to their squad.
