Newcastle United have added their name to a list of Premier League clubs interested in 18-year-old Norwegian wonderkid Antonio Nusa.

Several Premier League clubs have been monitoring the progress of 18-year-old forward Antonio Nusa from Club Brugge and 90mins have now confirmed that Newcastle is among his admirers.

The youngster has already got a goal and an assist to his name this season in four appearances which matches his total from the 21 appearances he made last season.

Jan Aage Fjortoft has urged big clubs to sign Nusa without scouting

Labeled the ‘real deal’ by former Middlesbrough striker Jan Aage Fjortoft who posted on X that clubs should just be trying to sign Nusa without even scouting him.

Chelsea were said to have made a late move for Nusa for around £30million this summer but the forward rejected the move opting to stay at Club Brugge.

Nusa spoke of the opportunity to TV2 in Norway (via 90mins) and said: “I didn’t know about it. We had a match that day against Osasuna, so I didn’t find out about it until after the match. I saw there was a lot of stuff on my mobile phone. My cell phone exploded after the match. Then I wondered what happened. Then I realised.

Newcastle will wait to make a move for Nusa

“Now I’m in a situation where I want the next step, when it happens, to be something I’ve really thought through. I want to find what is right for me. It is important to me. I think about what is best for me. Right now it’s perfect, sort of, so you just don’t stress too much, things will come along.”

It sounds like the kid has a wise head on his shoulders and with Newcastle, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool from the Premier League interested in him, plus a host of top European clubs, he’s not going to be short of options.

This looks like a one to keep an eye on for next summer as Newcastle will no doubt still be shopping for young potential superstars.
