Newcastle have been linked with a loan swoop for Tottenham’s Harry Winks before the end of the transfer window.
England international Winks has fallen out of favour at Spurs under new manager Nuno Espirito Santo.
That will further harm his international prospects. He was left out of Euro 2020 and won’t expect to be in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the forthcoming internationals.
He needs regular gametime and Newcastle need a new central midfielder to put their foot on the ball.
