Newcastle United are yet to reach a conclusion in their attempts to sign a new left-back.
Eddie Howe is reportedly eager to move Dan Burn into a central position next season and a new signing in that department is believed to be on the agenda.
Arsenal’s Kieran Tierney has frequently been tipped as a Newcastle target, with Aston Villa also said to be interested in the Scotland international.

Still, despite the fact the £25m signing from Celtic in the summer of 2019 lost his place to Oleksandr Zinchenko last season, Tierney remains an Arsenal player.
But for how long is uncertain.
Arsenal now ready to sell Kieran Tierney this summer
Indeed, the Daily Mail have provided an update as to the 26-year-old’s standing in north London.
They claim the Gunners are now ready to turn their attentions to selling players after a major summer spend at the Emirates Stadium.
Declan Rice, Jurrien Timber and Kai Havertz have all been signed, with the Premier League giants now ready to sell.
The report suggests Tierney is among those who could leave the club this summer should a tempting offer emerge.

Newcastle can’t pin all their hopes on Tierney
While Tierney was hailed as a “warrior” by Ashley Cole in 2021, Newcastle cannot afford to pin all of their hopes on him.
Firstly, Arsenal surely wouldn’t consider strengthening a positional rival towards the top of the Premier League without a huge offer.
Secondly, the Scot’s injury record hardly looks the most reliable.
Since joining Arsenal, Transfermarkt data notes Tierney has missed 48 games, more than a whole season, through various injuries.
Given the demanding way in which Howe deploys his Newcastle team, whether that would be a good match is certainly up for debate.
