Newcastle United are negotiating deals for Premier League trio James Trafford, Anthony Elanga and Joao Pedro reportedly worth a combined £125m.

The news comes as a big surprise to fans who were not expecting such a ruthless approach to their clubs’ transfer business this summer, but it is still an update that has been welcomed.

It is approaching two years since Newcastle United last made a signing to improve their starting XI, but three deals could be made at once if all goes well for Eddie Howe’s recruitment team in the transfer market.

In the meantime, Newcastle are keen to keep Alexander Isak on Tyneside after reported interest from Liverpool. It has been stated that Isak to Liverpool is a very tricky deal to do this summer with his price tag believed to be at least £150m.

Isak is happy at Newcastle and is set to sit down for contract talks in the near future to deter interested parties. Despite that, Liverpool fans are now convinced a deal is possible after the latest development coming out of St James’ Park.

Liverpool fans think Alexander Isak deal will happen after Newcastle United’s £125m bids

Newcastle are looking to build a team around Isak, hence the interest in players like Joao Pedro and Anthony Elanga who can get the best out of him when put into the starting XI.

A boost for Howe is that Elanga has played alongside Isak on many occasions with the Sweden national team, so the pair should also be able to form a great partnership at club level.

While Newcastle continue work on those three players, Liverpool fans have taken to X to share what they think that deal means.

“Isak’s replacement found. Isak to Liverpool is on.” said one Liverpool fan, while another added: “£65m on a backup 9? Yeah Isak is gone. We’re funding the Newcastle revolution.”

This Liverpool fan is also convinced Isak is signing, saying: “Spending the Isak money wisely.”

“We are coming for Isak.” said this excited Liverpool fan.

Another Liverpool supporter said: “Where’s all this money come from? Must be expecting a big sale soon.”

Finally, this Liverpool fan said: “Isak sale money must’ve came in.”

Joao Pedro has said why he should play with Alexander Isak at Newcastle United

If Joao Pedro signs for Newcastle, Howe could look to make a major change to the way they set up his starting XI next season. The Brazilian was known just as well for his creative play as he was for his goals at Brighton, which could prove to be huge for Newcastle in the long term.

At just 23 years old, Joao Pedro will likely be a part of Newcastle’s first-team squad for several years. The hope is that he will play just off Isak as a shadow striker, allowing the Swede to make deadly runs past the back-line.

Joao Pedro said he plays more like a No.9 now rather than the No.10 he played at the beginning of his career. If he signs, Howe will look to revert him back to his old ways to become much more of a creative player.

Newcastle have offered £50m for Joao Pedro, but Brighton are reportedly looking for around £60m before agreeing to a deal.
