Liam Delap is just one of the players being linked with a move to Newcastle United this summer.
Newcastle United could be set to spend in the summer transfer window, something they were unable to do last year because of the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).
Now, however, Newcastle could have a £150million budget this summer and Delap is thought to be of interest.
Newcastle want to sign Delap, who has emerged as a prolific Premier League striker already. The 22-year-old has scored 12 Premier League goals for a poor Ipswich side, establishing himself as one of the best young forwards in the division.
Delap has a £30million release clause in his Ipswich contract which became active after they were relegated, ironically enough by Newcastle.
As such, he’s of interest to a number of other sides this summer. Still, it seems Newcastle are set for talks.

Newcastle United to hold Liam Delap transfer talks imminently
According to talkSPORT, Newcastle are among the clubs set to hold talks with the striker’s agents this week.
Manchester United and Chelsea are also understood to have held discussions, although it remains to be seen what happens with their interest.
Delap wants Champions League football at his next club and the Red Devils won’t be playing in the competition, having lost the Europa League final on Wednesday night.
Chelsea, meanwhile, could fall out of the top five in the Premier League table this weekend if they do not manage to beat Nottingham Forest. That would mean they qualify only for the Europa League.

Liam Delap’s market value increase amid Newcastle United interest
Back in April, BBC Sport spoke to Paul MacDonald of FootballTransfers.com.
He suggested that Ipswich paid well above Delap’s market value of £6.5million to sign him from Manchester City last summer.
Having enjoyed such a successful season on an individual basis in the Premier League, however, MacDonald thinks Delap’s £30million release clause represents market value now.
Newcastle think Delap could play alongside Alexander Isak next season, which is a very exciting prospect indeed.
Hopefully, they can win the race to sign him this summer.
