The transfer rumours are starting to ramp up and Lewis Hall’s future at Newcastle United amid links with Manchester United is back in the spotlight.
A brilliant season for Hall at Newcastle United ended in disappointing fashion. The defender lost his place in the side towards the end of the campaign and duly missed out on England’s World Cup squad.
How does the idea of MORE star players leaving after Anthony Gordon make you feel?! 😡
Sadly, key players are set to follow Anthony Gordon out of Newcastle this summer and Hall has been tipped as one.
Indeed, Manchester United have been linked with Hall, and Ben Jacobs has provided an update.
Hall could still sign new Newcastle United contract
Speaking to The United Stand, Jacobs said: “Lewis Hall is further away – as it stands – from improving his terms at Newcastle United.
“Because of how the season ended and missing out on the England squad, he is prepared to explore options and then either communicate that he wants to leave or alternatively use those options to go back to Newcastle and get a better deal.”
There is no suggestion, of course, that Hall is asking to leave but it seems as if talks will be held either way. Should this result in a new contract for the player on Tyneside, then one would have to say it is richly deserved after his exploits last season. His current deal expires in the summer of 2029.
Quite whether being dropped at Newcastle and missing out on the World Cup are related is up for debate. It should be noted, of course, that Hall didn’t start either of England’s friendlies back in March when he was still in the Newcastle team.
Anthony Gordon’s gone – so name your dream replacement here 👇
It’s natural that players would look for leverage, or that big moves away would appeal. It does not mean they will absolutely happen.

Frankly, selling Hall would be a foolish move from Newcastle. His best years are still to come, and there are other players who should be sold ahead of him if it really comes down to it.
Newcastle fans are going to have to get used to this. The summer will almost certainly be full of reports touting their key players for exits, just as it was last year.
With Gordon gone and potentially more to follow, it is imperative that the club keep a hold of Hall.
